Why we love it....

Aerial view of golden coast cliffs of portuguese southern beaches in Lagos City, Algarve,

Lagos has so much to offer... the charm of the old town, the castle and fortress on the harbour, great places to eat, beautiful beaches, dramatic cliffs and boat trips from the marina to look at the dramtic caves nearby.

Location

A rural feel but minutes from Lagos:
Our villa is set in a quiet semi rural area on the outskirts of Lagos, an Uber to the pretty old town takes about 5 mins and costs approximately €4. And just a few minutes drive to Praia de Porto de Mós - a beautiful beach with a two very nice restaurants.

Local amenities

It it close to all the amenities you want on holiday. The nearest supermarket  (we think the best) is Intermarche Hiper, which has all the fresh produce you would want... fruit, vegetables, meat, and fish, but also has prepared salads, fresh 'ready meals' and hot food to takeaway for lunch. It also has  a wide range of Portuguese wines including those from local vineyards,  along with a cafe (4 euro for a freshly made sandwich and a cappucino!) a flower stall, and a pharmacy.

The restaurants

The nearest local restaurants are a kilometre but a more extensive range of restaurants can be found in Lagos, or on one of the cliff-tops looking onto the nearby beaches! Everything from traditional Portuguese fish restaurants, to Italian, German and Indian and there is a good selection of Michelin guide restaurants. You will be spoilt for choice.

Golf

Boavista Golf and Spa is 2km away with its championship 18 hole course - there are many more golf courses in the area!

The Marina at Lagos

You can leave your yacht here and have a drink at one of the bars and restaurants.
Or take a boat trip to visit the caves for a view of the spectacular coastline.

Beaches!

Many people visit the Algarve for the beautiful beaches, and in the Lagos area you are truly spoilt for choice, whether it be the wide, vast golden beach of Meia Praia, or the more secluded smaller beaches. Our favourite is Porto da Mos which has two restaurants (with casual snack bars too), and a good size carpark.
